Dr. Neil Burnett is a Senior Technical Specialist at OCETA and has 35 years of diversified experience in the energy and environmental sectors. He is part of a group that provides technical support and business services to a variety of Ontario-based technology and product companies. Neil currently specializes in the areas of renewable energy, energy management and smart grid technologies. Prior to joining OCETA, Neil was Vice President of Research at an Ajax company developing energy systems for waste treatment. He previously worked for 20 years in various management roles in the nuclear, energy management and environmental technology areas within Ontario Hydro. Neil has been active in national and international organizations, including: Chair of the Canadian Electrical Association’s Utilization Committee and Chair of the Electric Vehicle Association of Canada, as well as a member of technical committees within the International Energy Agency, Electrical Power Research Institute, Electric Vehicle Association of the Americas and Continental Automated Buildings Association. Recently, he was Co-Chair of the Duffins & Carruthers Watershed Management Committee within the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority Neil has a B.Sc. (Technology) and PhD in Materials Science from the University of Sheffield.
